For Lilly I always buy it on sale. Either on their website or through the facebook group called Re-Lilly. I actually don’t own any Kate Spade’s clothing (it is too expensive). Buttttt I own a lot of Vineyard Vines because I work there (yay discount!!) & J.Crew which I too always get on sale or at the outlet.
You just have to be a smart shopper. Also knowing when to buy a cheaper look-a-like of an item or splurge on the real thing :)
